Individual Retirement Accounts & Retirement Plans
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)
Southwest Georgia Bank's Trust and Brokerage Division can act as the custodian for your IRA and assist you in reaching your retirement goals. IRAs offer the potential for tax-deferred, compounded earnings growth, and our professionals have the expertise to explain the choice between a regular IRA or a Roth IRA and the details concerning contributions and withdrawals. We also will offer you a wide array of investment choices, including mutual funds, stocks and bonds. Even if you're already contributing to your employer-sponsored plan at work, consider an IRA as an additional way to save, building potentially tax-free savings in addition to your employer-sponsored plan.

Estate Planning & Trust Services
One of the most responsible things you can do for your loved ones is plan for the transfer of your estate.
By prioritizing long-term financial objectives and developing a strategy for passing wealth to your heirs and beneficiaries, you can avoid the confusion and significant tax consequences that occur without proper planning.
Even if you have a will, you may need to consider establishing a trust as the foundation of your estate plan. If you're a business owner, it is even more critical for you to establish clear succession plans and methods for funding those plans.
At Southwest Georgia Bank, our trust advisors have the experience and expertise to provide the guidance you need in making significant financial decisions.
Because establishing a trust is a highly personal process, we will first work with you to determine what your objectives are and the type of trust that suits your needs. Then we will help you bring together the legal guidance and accounting professionals necessary to develop the proper plan for you. Our trust advisors work with you every step of the way, ensuring your distinct needs are met.

Gold Money Fund II
Gold Money Fund II
The Gold Money Fund II is a cash management account designed to provide individuals, businesses, and government entities with daily access to cash while earning a competitive interest rate. The account is designed for customers able to maintain large balances in order to earn enough interest to cover costs while still providing earnings.
The Gold Money Fund II is a custodial trust account which is tied to a checking account and works like a sweep account. Excess funds in your checking account are automatically moved, or swept, into an overnight investment account, earning you interest. Once we determine an average balance, normally at least $100,000, to be maintained in your operating account, extra cash gets swept into your Gold Money Fund II account. When the balance in your operating account falls below the pre-determined average balance, money is swept back into your account in order to maintain the balance. You receive a monthly statement listing all transactions and interest earnings. And, your deposits are FDIC insured up to the applicable limit.
